HOM HO1

The new original H01 cotton modal mini brief

Running my own blog can sometimes become a bit of a chore …. GASP I hear you say :0)  However it does have it's benefits and one of these is having samples sent to me for review …. and this one is perfect as it's a pair of briefs I would never have thought to buy, just because, well, they don't grab my attention …. OH how wrong could I be!

A Touch of Class

These popped through the door the other day and to be honest I'd forgotten deadgoodundies.com were sending them! Opening the jiffy bag I was pleasantly surprised to see that these briefs were packaged in a nice clear 'box', like all upmarket underwear used to be a few years ago, until all the midrange brands exploded on to the market.

To say I was even more surprised when I pulled the underwear out of this box is quite an understatement …. not only was the box a classy touch and a reminder of days gone by but pulling the briefs out of the box they felt and looked stylish and just that little bit sophisticated!

Masculine!

I could tell straight away that these were no cheap briefs, they felt FANTASTIC … if they felt good in my hand they were going to feel even better on …. and I wasn't wrong!

These are what HOM are calling their 'NEW Original HO1's', so I'm guessing they've had a make over. From the fabulous new smooth waistband which is flat and soft with a matt finish, to the brief’s single layer supportive pouch that has the specially designed HO1 horizontal opening across the top.  If you haven’t discovered HOM’s fantastic horizontal opening, then maybe now's the time to try and get yourself a pair!

I've actually tried this horizontal opening before from HOM. A few years ago I purchased four pairs of HOM's Mini Briefs or come to think of it they could have been called Micro Briefs as they had the tiniest sides you've ever seen... in four bright colours that also had the horizontal opening and I have to say I wore them to death. My favourite was a bright orange pair. Anyways, back to the HO1's ... I really do love the horizontal opening, however my only gripe is that I wish they used slightly more material on the overlap … by this I mean the piece that goes below the piece at the front … I just think if it had a bit more it would be far more, lets say 'SAFE' so nothing pops out ;0)

The actual briefs are made from a mix of 67% Cotton, 22% Micro Modal and 11% Elastane so they feel very soft to the touch and yes, they're nice and stretchy, just how I like my briefs and here's the punch line …. they made me feel sooooo masculine it's ridiculous!  I felt like a complete 'jock' as if I was about to go out and play for the local rugby team …. I don't know why exactly, maybe it's because they're black or maybe because they hug you so well, I have no idea, but whatever it is, I like it ;0)

A 'Brief' Summary!

In my personal opinion the HO1's are superb and how can you go wrong if they make you feel so good, well to me they did! They're available in Black, Blue, Grey and White and if you like a bit of colour there's also what looks like a 'Summer Edition' of the HO1, that's available in Red, although the fabric mix is slightly different at 45% Modal, 44% Cotton and 11% Elastane …. so been a bright colour, I may have to make a purchase!

All in all, a mighty fine 'masculine' pair of briefs and thank you deadgoodundies for supplying the briefs for review.
