I just love coloured Briefs
I'm like a crow attracted to shiny objects. Luckily the days of boring black, white and grey underwear are well behind us (for most guys anyways). Remember those times when mens underwear went all conservative. Days I hated with a passion!
Mens underwear seemed to go from the colourful and wild days of the 70's to the drab colourless days of the 80's, which looking back on those times was pretty strange when you consider the fashions of the 80's/early 90's.
Everything was about expression when it came down to fashion! But in retrospect, I suppose that look was generally reserved for womens' fashions, big shoulder pads, large hair styles and bold striking colours, even for business. I think this was generally the times associated with woman becoming figure heads and that was a way of expressing power, hence 'Power Dressing'
Unless of course you were a follower of the 'New Romantic fashion' lol, mind you, I bet even then the guys wore boring Black or White, maybe pushing the boat out every now and then and wearing grey!
And then of course we had the famous Nick Kamen advert for Levis Jeans…. and then the most unsexy and boring underwear swept through mens underwear draws, the dreaded white Boxer shorts … well, for me anyways. In my mind they have to be the most boring and uncomfortable form of underwear ever produced! Believe me I tried, to be with the 'in' crowd, but I always reverted back to comfy briefs. How any bloke can put up with all the excess material, I'll never know lol, and then came Boxer Briefs, slightly better, but for me still uncomfortable … any ways, I'm getting off the subject here and I'm gonna leave my Boxer Shorts/Boxer Briefs discussion for another time!
So, colours … Nearly all of my underwear are of some wild colour, just 'Log In' to the members section and I'm sure you'll agree by looking at my gallery. Yes I still have the Black's and White's but not many … and I'll only pull out a black pair of something or other if I'm feeling down or under the weather. How strange, underwear can mirror certain moods!
My favourite manufacturer Calvin Klein produce some brilliant colours and I'm gad to say many manufactures have followed suit in the past few years and now nearly every underwear manufacture produces their underwear in great colours … a bit unfortunate for me though lol, as, as soon as I see a new release of a colour I have to have it … especially the Calvin Klein Micro Fibre 'Steel' range! Just check out the banner for this article. It's like the colours of the rainbow :0). Red and Yellow and Pink and Blue, although I haven't yet found a bright yellow in the range. I thought they had when they released the 'Zest' colour, but when it arrived, it wasn't anywhere near a Bright Yellow. I think I've seen it in a Boxers style, (And just an update, while writing this article I've found a bright yellow version called 'Banana', now to find them in the UK!) but as I've stated above, we won't go there lol.
Talking of Colours, Jockey, get your fingers out and bring back all the great colours you used to produce your Y Front's in. Your lagging well behind other manufactures. Yes, I know you've played with a few special editions, of which here in the UK they've been difficult to get hold of, but you used to be the King of great 'colours' not to mention 'patterns'.
I find it fun and slightly, dare I say it 'naughty' lol … having a bright wild colour lurking under my jeans, especially whilst at work and even better if on the odd occasion I need to wear a suit for the day … which I used to in the past, but not now. I think it's great that something as small and to some people is a mundane article of clothing can make me feel good about myself!
And if other blokes should happen to see bright coloured underwear popping out the top of my trousers and look with 'disgust' then so be it, I don't care and couldn't give a 'flying @$%&', it makes me feel good, even more so if it's a brightly coloured Jockstrap :0)
